In the panel and photo exhibition held at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (TOGÜ) on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, veterans and relatives of martyrs talked about their experiences that night and gave a message of national will and unity.

TOGÜ Secretary General Prof. made the opening speech at the program held at TOGÜ 15 July Congress and Culture Center National Will Hall. Dr. Muhittin Demiray stated that July 15 was a historical turning point in which the Turkish nation defended its independence, democracy and national will. Demiray stated that they commemorate all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland, flag and nation on the night of July 15, with mercy and the veterans with gratitude.

The "15 July Democracy and National Unity Day" video screening, which was shown in the commemoration program, gave the participants emotional moments. The screening included images reflecting the heroism experienced during the coup attempt and the spirit of unity of the nation.

Veterans and relatives of martyrs talked about that night

The panel titled "Witness to July 15: Victory of the National Will" organized within the scope of the program was moderated by Abdulkadir Türk, Deputy Chairman of Tokat Martyrs' Families Social Assistance and Solidarity Association.

Speaking at the panel, July 15 Veteran Bünyamin İnce explained that he fought to defend the national will in front of the Presidential Complex during the coup attempt, that he was seriously injured as a result of the fire and that he underwent a treatment process that lasted approximately two years. İnce gave a message of unity and solidarity, stating that despite the difficulties he experienced, the love of the homeland was above everything else.

Nizami Gülşen, a relative of the martyr, shared his pain with the participants, stating that he had three brothers martyred on the night of July 15. Gülşen pointed out the importance of the nation acting in unity and solidarity and stated that one should always be vigilant against threats to the country.
