Activities were started in Trabzon to determine the 2026 hazelnut yield. The commission, which started counting pine trees in the designated gardens as of July 13, 2026, will count in the field until Tuesday, July 21.
This year, a Çotanak census will be carried out in Trabzon's hazelnut-growing districts for the yield to be determined by the committee representing hazelnut-related segments under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. While the teams counted in Şalpazarı, Tonya, Beşikdüzü and Vakfıkebir districts yesterday, they will count in Çarşıbaşı, Akçaabat and Düzköy districts today.
The commission, which started to determine the yield by sampling method in the coastal, middle and high areas, includes representatives of the "Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Trabzon Provincial Directorate, Trabzon Commodity Exchange, Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Black Sea Exporters Association, Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, Fiskobirlik, Giresun Hazelnut Research Institute Directorate, National Hazelnut Council, Turkish Chambers of Agriculture Union and Soil Products Office Trabzon General Directorate".
