The countdown has begun for the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Science High School, which will accept 90 students through a special exam from among the students who are in the 1 percent success bracket according to the results of the High School Transition System (Lgs). Applications to the prestigious school, which offers students 5-year boarding education, scholarships, free accommodation and internship opportunities directly with TÜBİTAK experts in the field of basic sciences and advanced technologies, will end on July 15, 2026 at 23.59 through the e-School system. The special entrance exam, which will determine the technology stars of the future, will be held simultaneously in 25 exam centers across Türkiye on Saturday, July 18. The school's special exam will be held on Saturday, July 18, between 10.00-11.40 in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul Anatolia, Istanbul Europe, Izmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Malatya, Mersin, Muğla, Sakarya, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van. Stating that the operation of the school is unique in Türkiye, TÜBİTAK Science High School Principal Hacı Ahmet Yıldırım said, "Our school is waiting for its 6th semester students. In order to be able to enroll in our school, we must first be in the 1 percent in LGS. A message has already been sent to our students who have entered this 1 percent. The exam will be held in 25 provinces in our country on July 18. Hacı Ahmet Yıldırım, who said that the aim of opening the school is to train qualified scientists in basic sciences, said, "One of the most important tools we have for this is science Olympiads, and the second is project competitions. The environment provided at the school has also given its results. So far, we have students who have received medals in dozens of international science Olympiads. They have achieved serious success in project competitions in Türkiye. In addition, we have students who have received awards in international competitions. Awards are not actually a goal in themselves. It is important for the student to be involved in these processes. In our school, "There are hundreds of students working and producing projects on these subjects. There are many students preparing for the Science Olympiads. What is really pleasing for us is that many students are participating in these. They are gaining serious gains in terms of basic science," he said.

Stating that there were many reasons for choosing the school, Saba Sumru Saf said, "First of all, they do not have financial concerns. Our school meets all our needs in every way. When we first come, they give us our clothes and basic needs. At the same time, when you come here, you will be given a scholarship. Apart from that, they will not have any problems in terms of education. We have education in every aspect here. Both projects and the Olympics. For example, I personally prepared for the Chemistry Olympics. Last year I received an international gold medal. Referring to his future goals, Yekta Settar Çalışkan said, "I want to study aerospace engineering in the future. The support our school gives me is as follows; in addition to the laboratory and course activities here, we see internship opportunities in various units of TÜBİTAK when we move to the 9th grade. We receive internship training from the best scientists, engineers and professors in their field here for 3 years. Our internship training here contributes a lot to both our choice of profession and career and to gaining competence in this choice.
