The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced that the number of paid employees in the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors combined increased by 0.5 percent in May 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year.
TÜİK announced the number of paid employees for the May 2026 period across the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors. Accordingly, the number of paid employees increased by 0.5 percent in May 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of paid employees was 15,892,187 in the same month of the previous year, it reached 15,970,105 in May 2026. Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in May 2026, the number of paid employees decreased by 3.2 percent annually in the industry sector, increased by 1.2 percent in the construction sector. It increased by 2.3 percent in the trade-services sector.
NUMBER OF PAID EMPLOYEES DECREASED BY 0.1 PERCENT MONTHLY
The total number of paid employees in the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors decreased by 0.1 percent in May 2026 compared to the previous month. Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in May 2026, paid employees decreased by 0.1 percent monthly in the industry sector, decreased by 1.2 percent in the construction sector, and remained unchanged in the trade-services sector.
