10 years have passed since the treacherous coup attempt of the armed terrorist organization FETO/PDY. Days before the 10th anniversary of the saga written on July 15, on July 13, the button was pressed to capture individuals affiliated with FETO/PDY across Türkiye.
Within the scope of the investigations carried out by the chief public prosecutor's offices of 81 provinces to decipher the FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization, simultaneous operations were carried out to capture 973 suspects affiliated with the FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization.
He says that while 704 of the suspects were caught and taken into custody during the operations, the arrest process of 269 is still ongoing.
Of the 704 suspects taken into custody, 170 were active, 6 were retired, and 44 were dismissed public personnel; 484 of them consist of private sector employees and civilians.
It was determined that 97 of the 170 active public personnel in custody were affiliated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and 1 of them was a police chief, 1 was a commissioner, 94 was a police officer and 1 was a gendarmerie personnel.
It was determined that 14 of these suspects were affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, 1 of them was a court clerk, 8 of them were correctional officers, and 5 of them were freelance lawyers.
It was also learned that teachers, doctors, nurses, academics and research assistants were among those detained during the operations.
