MUSCAT, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Oman reiterated its determination to work with all parties to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday that it continues "transparent and impartial cooperation" with all parties to re-establish navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and fully adheres to its obligations arising from the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
In the statement, which called on all parties to respect and comply with international law, it was emphasized that efforts to restore maritime navigation should be carried out in full compliance with internationally accepted legal principles.
The British Shipping Organization reported that two oil tankers passing through the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz were attacked earlier the same day.
