Kocaeli Governor İlhami Aktaş published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Aktaş noted that July 15 was a national resistance written in golden letters in history, where the national will, unity and solidarity were rebuilt with the spirit of establishment.
Stating that the beloved nation, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, eliminated the treacherous coup attempt with the stance it displayed that night, Aktaş stated that the power of national unity and solidarity was shown to the world.
Stating that Türkiye once again reminded the world history of the importance of being a nation, Aktaş said, "The true sons of this country will make great efforts not to forget the heroic spirit of July 15, our glorious democracy victory, to keep it alive, and to convey to the next generations the relics such as the flag, homeland and independence left to us by our martyrs and veterans, and will explain and convey our history to them very well." he said.
"Our people, men, women, young and old, who came to the squares against the treacherous attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), which targeted the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, where the national will is represented, and nestled within the state, defended democracy and national will at the expense of their lives and said 'the will is ours, the victory is ours'. On the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, we wrote an epic with their blood and lives to protect our national will and democracy, "We commemorate our martyrs who defended our call to prayer, our flag, and our independence with mercy and gratitude, and we express our gratitude and appreciation to our veterans. May the souls of all our martyrs rest in peace."
