Denizli Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, in his message published on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, emphasized the determination of the state and the nation to protect the national will on the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15. Köşger commemorated the martyrs with mercy and the veterans with gratitude.

In his message, Governor Köşger said, "On the 10th anniversary of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt, we stand with the same determination as the first day against the FETO terrorist organization, which attacks our state, our democracy, our national will and our constitutional order. In the face of this vile attempt targeting the survival and unity of our country, our beloved nation continues to protect its independence and future as one body, one heart and one voice, as on the first day.
July 15, 2016 is not an ordinary date hanging on the calendar pages, but a historical turning point that rewrites the flow of the glorious history of a noble nation. On that historical night when pitch darkness and light, captivity and freedom came to an end, our beloved nation stood tall like an elf with only its faith and glorious flag in the face of tanks and barrels. With their longing for martyrdom and unchained courage, their unyielding heads that do not give way to treason have put an immortal seal on our independence, our future and our survival by putting their lives as a shield against the homeland. We stabbed like an arrow into the heart of darkness and shattered the chains of captivity with one move, and we became one heart with young and old, women and men, that night. While our heroic nation stands up against the cold barrels with only our faith and defends the homeland at the cost of our lives, under the shadow of our glorious flag, we say to the whole world, "The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours!" They cried out and together they gave birth to a blessed dawn that drowned the darkness. The unwavering will of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the tremendous resistance of our Holy Turkish Nation, rising with one heart, continue to be the undying torch of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day and the real power that illuminates the dark night for exactly 10 years. Our noble nation, which rushed to the squares with the historical call of our President, risked the sherbet of martyrdom and broke the chains that were intended to be placed on its future. This blessed stance is the clearest evidence on earth of what kind of victory we can achieve even under the most difficult conditions. The treacherous network that infiltrated the heart of the state was defeated like a leaf in the face of this national arrogance under the guidance of our President. Those accursed centers of treason, coveting our independence, have melted into eternal disappointment in the face of national faith, and have engraved their names as black stains in the pitch blackness of history. History is a witness that these sacred lands are the only shelter for the oppressed on earth, the last sacred port of humanity. With this deep consciousness, we are determined to protect the survival of our state and carry our nation to a bright future in the second century of our glorious Republic. On this exceptional anniversary of July 15, we declare that we will overcome every obstacle with unshakable faith, with the noble spirit we inherit from our deep-rooted history. With these sacred feelings and unshakable faith, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our independence and reached eternal life, and I express my gratitude to our heroic veterans who shielded the traitors with their chests.
