Eskişehir Governor Erdinç Yılmaz visited the July 15 veterans at their homes on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Governor Yılmaz visited Özcan Çetinkaya, Burak Güzel, Uğur Göküz and Nusret Bayar, who were veterans of the treacherous coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).
Chatting with veterans and their families during the visits, Yılmaz thanked the veterans for their sacrifice and heroism on the night of July 15.
Listening to the demands and suggestions of veterans, Yılmaz emphasized that the state always stands by the families of martyrs and veterans.
Governor Yılmaz presented various gifts to the veterans during his visits.
Governor Yılmaz, who made a statement to journalists after the visit, reminded that the 15th of July Democracy and National Unity Day has entered its 10th year and said that the Turkish nation protected democracy and its homeland that night.
Stating that July 15 was a historical day when the nation demonstrated its unity and solidarity, Yılmaz said, "Tomorrow is July 15. We are entering the 10th year of the treacherous coup attempt. July 15 is our Democracy and National Unity Day. On that day, we truly showed our unity and protected our democracy. Most importantly, we did not surrender our beloved homeland to the treacherous FETO coup plotters." he said.
Stating that he commemorates the citizens who were martyred on July 15 with mercy and gratitude, Yılmaz said that the sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans will never be forgotten.
Combat Air Force Commander General Rafet Dalkıran, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Erhan Demir, Provincial Police Chief Tolga Yılmaz and Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Orhan Bayrak were also present during the visits.
