Van, the tenth stop of the Türkiye Culture Road Festival, continues to host events full of culture and art.
Works reflecting Van's deep-rooted production culture continue to meet art lovers at the Traditional Handicrafts Exhibition. The exhibition, held for the second time at the Van Maturation Institute, showcases the rich handicraft heritage of the city, from niello Van silver to fabrics woven from Norduz wool.
The exhibition, which also includes clothing and embroidery products, leather activities, carpets and rugs, aims to transfer the traditional production culture to future generations.
Workshops organized within the scope of the festival also offer participants the opportunity to both learn and practice.
At the Jewelry Design Workshop at Van Olgunlatma Institute, visitors designed their own jewelry using natural stones.
In the Felt Workshop held at the Van Museum, the production process of felt, its usage areas and its place in Turkish culture were explained practically. Participants had the opportunity to closely observe felt making using traditional methods and experience the techniques used.
Author Ömer Aytaç Aykaç met with his readers at the talk held at İpekyolu District Public Library. At the event titled "Literary Journalism", the relationship between literature and journalism, the development of the local press and the current place of literary journalism were discussed.
At the "Island's World, House with the Blue Door" event held at the Provincial Public Library, children participated in book reading, creative drama and painting workshops.
Van Culture Road Festival, with its rich program ranging from exhibitions to talks, traditional art workshops to children's activities, will continue to host its visitors until July 19.
