President Memet Aslan published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. Referring to the games played on these lands throughout history, Memet Aslan said, "The sacred lands of the Middle East, which constitute the center of religions, beliefs, cultural and commercial wars, have never lost their appeal in any period of human history. Despite external threats, fights, conflicts, comprehensive and systematic attacks such as the Crusades, burning and destruction, economic attacks and capitulations, these lands have always managed to rise from the ashes. The sacred geography of Anatolia, which has never lost its noble and honorable stance. "The people of Efsun managed to write a new history on July 15, 2016," he said.

Stating that the political engineering efforts of the dominant powers and their local collaborators have hit the will of the nation, President Aslan said, "Dominant and oppressive powers, who do not want to design societies and lose their pressure and sovereignty over countries through political engineering, sometimes try to achieve results by using themselves and sometimes by using the local collaborators within those countries. The dominant powers and their local collaborators, who tried to carry out an operation against these people with various excuses from time to time until July 15, 2016, were not successful. On the evening of July 15, they appeared to be the children of the nation but in reality they were "Traitors, who have nothing to do with our nation, made an attempt on our lives. Traitors, who aimed at the unity and solidarity of the nation and the indivisible integrity of the country, tried to create confusion and chaos in many parts of the country," he said.

Emphasizing that the coup attempt was repelled by the nation's upright stance, Aslan said, "Our nation repelled this foreign-supported treacherous coup attempt aimed at its freedom, unity and solidarity, by joining hands with its common sense, commitment to national and spiritual values, faith, and strong, astute and upright leader. The heroic sons of the country prevented this treacherous coup attempt against our independence and freedom, at the cost of their lives, with the motto 'If we die, we become martyrs, if we stay, we become veterans.' On July 15 and in the following period, our state continued its struggle together with its government, all its institutions and organizations, and our people gave such a lesson to its leader and all state institutions that no power will ever attempt to disrupt the unity, solidarity and peace of this beloved nation. With these feelings and thoughts, we salute our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity and solidarity of our nation and the indivisible integrity of our country.
