Following the earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela on June 24, Turkish search and rescue teams went to the region and returned home.
A400M cargo plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), carrying AFAD teams and vehicles, landed at Atatürk Airport.
In addition to AFAD personnel of 37 people, a 6-person UMKE team from the Ministry of Health, a 2-person humanitarian aid team from the Turkish Red Crescent, search and rescue dogs and fully equipped search and rescue vehicles also came to Istanbul.
The 22-person search and rescue team of the Turkish Armed Forces Humanitarian Aid Brigade and 3 AFAD personnel are planned to land in Ankara with another plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defense.
Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 occurred in Venezuela on June 24, 39 seconds apart.
Shortly after the earthquake, Turkish search and rescue teams went to Venezuela to fulfill their humanitarian duties.
More than 4,500 people died in the earthquake.
