Volkswagen Group is going through a comprehensive reduction in its product range within the scope of its restructuring strategy. The company plans to discontinue approximately half of its current model portfolio over time to focus on higher profit margin models and electric and next-generation technologies.
Among the models planned to be discontinued are Volkswagen Touareg, Touran and T-Roc Convertible; Audi TT, R8 and Q8 e-tron; There is also an internal combustion engine version of the Porsche Macan. The aim is to reduce costs by reducing hardware diversity.
