Out of 27 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation into the deaths of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, Founding Chairman of the Grand Unity Party (BBP), and 5 accompanying individuals in a helicopter crash in 2009, 19 were sent to prison, while judicial control measures were imposed on 8 suspects.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reopened the investigation file concerning the helicopter crash on March 25, 2009, in which Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and 5 accompanying individuals lost their lives. As part of the investigation, operations were carried out by the Ankara Provincial Police Department Anti-Organized Crime Branch Directorate at 30 different addresses across 10 provinces, centered in Ankara. Within the scope of these efforts, detention warrants were issued for 29 suspects determined to have participated in the crime of 'premeditated murder' as part of FETÖ activities related to the helicopter crash/destruction involving Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his companions. 27 of the suspects were taken into custody. Following their procedures at the police department, all 27 suspects sent to the prosecutor's office were referred to the penal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest. The judgeship ruled for the arrest of 19 suspects and imposed judicial control measures on 8 suspects.
It was stated that the investigation is continuing meticulously and comprehensively.
