While the forest fire that started yesterday evening in Muğla's Milas district was largely brought under control, the once green cover and deep blue sea view remained in the past with the fire. While the burning areas were viewed with a drone, it was seen that the green cover turned to land.
The fire broke out in the forest area in Kazıklı-Bozbük area of Gürçamlar District yesterday evening for an unknown reason. The flames, which grew rapidly under the influence of the wind, spread over a wide area throughout the night and reached the Kaplankaya region, where luxury villas and hotels are located. Forest workers and firefighters dispatched from Milas and surrounding districts fought intensely against the flames throughout the night. Counterfire was applied in order to stop the progress of the fire at critical points. As the weather got brighter, the intervention was intensified from both air and land, with the reactivation of aircraft. Intensive firefighting efforts yielded results. In the statement made by the General Directorate of Forestry, it was announced that the fire was largely under control.
