Minister of YOUTH and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak accepted the special athletes who won a total of 51 medals, including 28 gold, 5 silver and 18 bronze, at the 2026 SU-DS World Championship and IBA21 World Basketball Championship. At the reception held in Ankara, Deputy Ministers of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya and Enes Eminoğlu and General Director of Sports Services and President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee Prof. Dr. Parent Ozan Çakır, Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation President Birol Aydın and coaches were also present.

Speaking at the reception, Minister Bak congratulated the national athletes who won a total of 51 medals at the 2026 SU-DS World Championship held in Bulgaria and the IBA21 World Basketball Championship held in Hungary for their success.

Minister Bak stated that special athletes are very valuable and said, "First of all, I would like to point out that all of our special athletes are real champions in our eyes. Your determination to fight and the effort you put in are above all medals and trophies. The successes you have achieved in the championships and the medals you have won also make us proud. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, serious investments have been made and support has been given for your participation in sports. You also repay this by winning medals. "I thank you all very much and wish you continued success," he said.
