İbrahim Elmalı Stars Clubs Türkiye Weightlifting Championship, organized by the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, started in Sakarya.
597 athletes from 86 clubs compete in the organization held at Metehan Başar Sports Hall in Serdivan district.
Turkish Weightlifting Federation Secretary General Mertcan Albunar told the AA correspondent that the championship, which is in the federation's activity program, will last 5 days.
Stating that 285 male and 312 female athletes participated in the championship, Albunar noted that the tournament was held on the basis of the age group that forms the basis of the national stars team and the Olympic squads.
Albunar added that they aim to represent the country in the best way possible in the world and European championships by creating new champions in the competitions.
İbrahim Elmalı Stars Clubs Turkish Weightlifting Championship will end on July 19.
