The health research conducted at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University (BŞEÜ) entered the international literature by being published in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing in the Q1 category.
BŞEÜ added a new one to its international academic achievements. Research Assistant at the University's Graduate Education Institute, Dr. The activity carried out by Büşra Küçüktürkmen was published in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, which is among the most respected scientific journals in the world and is in the Q1 category. In the study titled 'The Mediating Role of Healthy Lifestyle Beliefs in the Impact of Health Literacy on Menstrual Experiences Among Adolescent Girls in Turkey: A Cross-sectional Study', the determining role of healthy lifestyle beliefs in the effect of health literacy on menstrual experiences in teenage girls was revealed in the light of scientific data. The study offers significant evidence-based contributions to the international literature in the fields of Child Health and Disease Nursing, Women's Health Nursing and Midwifery. According to the results of the research, it was determined that as health literacy strengthened, healthy life beliefs also increased, which contributed to young girls managing their menstrual process more consciously and healthily. The findings are expected to help develop school-based health education programs, raise family awareness, and guide the practices of health professionals.
Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı said, "The findings obtained from the research reveal that health literacy improves menstrual experiences not directly, but indirectly by strengthening healthy life beliefs. The research results have an important scientific value in terms of strengthening preventive health services, reducing health inequalities and increasing social awareness. We believe that the findings obtained will guide school-based health education programs, awareness activities for families and the practices of health professionals.
