BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhua) -- China aims to increase life expectancy from 79.25 in 2025 to 80 by 2030, as part of its ongoing activities to improve public health services and advance the Healthy China Initiative.
The plan, approved by China's State Council, aims to expand equitable access to healthcare, raise public awareness of preventive health management, and raise the country's key health indicators to the level of high-income economies.
The plan also calls for strengthening capacity to respond to public health emergencies and improving disease prevention and treatment capacity in primary health care.
Emphasizing the importance of developing lifelong comprehensive health services for everyone, the plan includes basic goals such as establishing strong health insurance systems, establishing an integrated and high-quality health services network, developing new growth areas for the health sector and advancing the health-centered governance approach in the sector.
