A dinner program was organized in Diyarbakır in honor of the families of martyrs and veterans on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
The program, held in the Orduevi garden in the central Yenişehir district, started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Speaking at the program, Governor Murat Zorluoğlu stated that he was happy to be together with the families of martyrs and veterans on the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15.
Zorluoğlu said that on the night of July 15, all members of the nation put aside their differences and united around the same ideal, disrupting their game and showing the whole world that there can be no power over the national will, and added that July 15 is the name of the glorious resistance and holy struggle given by 86 million people together.
"The intervening 10 years have shown us once again that our unity and solidarity, our determination to cooperate and cooperate is our greatest strength as a nation," said Zorluoğlu, adding, "This 'Terror-Free Turkey' process implemented by our President and our government will strengthen our existing law of brotherhood, strengthen the internal peace and tranquility in our country, and pave the way for us to transfer our resources, especially our human resources, to development, growth and the welfare of our nation." he said.
Governor Zorluoğlu continued:
"Who benefited from the terrorist acts that continued for more than 40 years? Who gained the most? This question needs to be asked. Terror barons, the terrorist sector and those who feed on blood won. Those who wanted to prevent Türkiye's situation, development, growth and existence as a strong state in its region and in the world won. Now is the time to remove this global game, this dirty plot against our country and the seeds of discord that are tried to be planted among us. Our duty today is to keep the spirit of July 15 alive, "To protect the legacy of our martyrs, to always remember with gratitude the sacrifices of our veterans, and to work together, hand in hand, heart to heart, for the peace, security and bright future of our country."
AK Party Diyarbakır Deputy Mehmet Galip Ensarioğlu said on July 15, 2016 that they had the greatest struggle after the War of Independence.
Stating that Türkiye evolved towards a completely different place after July 15, Ensarioğlu said, "Turkey is no longer the hope of only those living in this country, but has become the hope of the entire geography, oppressed states and nations. Hopefully, from now on, Turkey will evolve towards a completely different place after achieving the Terror-Free Turkey process and fortifying ourselves." he said.
The program ended after the prayer made by Provincial Mufti Celal Büyük.
The program was attended by 8th Main Jet Base Commander Brigadier General Burak Özan, Provincial Police Chief Nurettin Gökduman, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Tarık Hekimoğlu, Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor Erdal Kuruçay, Dicle University Rector Prof. Dr. Kamuran Eronat, AK Party Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman Hamit Sümer, representatives of public institutions and organizations and families of martyrs and veterans attended.
