KABUL, July 16 (Xinhua) -- The Afghanistan branch of the United Nations World Food Program announced that more than 1,600 tons of food aid arrived in the country after a long delay.
The aid is expected to provide nutritional support to approximately 80,000 children and 25,000 mothers across the country, local news channel Tolo News reported on Thursday.
The agency stated that the food supplies coming to the country, where millions of people depend on humanitarian aid, will be used in nutrition programs for vulnerable women and children.
