The Israeli army continues to attack Gaza despite the ceasefire agreement reached nine months ago. More than 1,100 people have lost their lives in Israeli attacks in Gaza since the ceasefire was signed in October 2025. According to Palestinian sources, at least five people lost their lives in the latest attacks carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
According to the information provided by rescue teams on Thursday, two people lost their lives in the air strike near Tuffah in the northeast of Gaza city, while another person died as a result of Israeli tank fire in the Zeytin neighborhood in the east of the city.
It was also reported that there were deaths in the attacks on the tent camp established for homeless people in the west of Gaza city and on a vehicle in Khan Yunus in the south.
The Israeli army did not make any statement regarding the events.
Most intense Israeli attacks since the ceasefire
The US-based monitoring organization called the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) also reported that there was a significant increase in Israeli attacks at a level not seen since October last year, when the ceasefire came into force.
Stating that more than 40 air and UAV attacks were carried out by Israel against Hamas and other militant groups in June, ACLED's Nasser Hıdır said, referring to the parliamentary elections to be held in Israel in October, "While the opposition is leading in the polls, domestic political pressure is increasing on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to adopt a tougher security line against Hamas."
Although the ceasefire reached about nine months ago ended the conflicts in the Gaza Strip, it did not stop Israel's attacks, which take place almost every day.
1,100 Palestinians were killed during the ceasefire period
According to data from Palestinian health authorities, more than 1,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since October. On the Israeli side, four soldiers lost their lives as a result of attacks by militant Palestinians in the same period. The Israeli administration argues that the attacks in the Gaza Strip are aimed at preventing attack attempts against them.
The war between Israel and Hamas and other radical organizations began on October 7, 2023, with Hamas's large-scale attack on Israel. According to Israel, approximately 1,200 people were killed in this attack.
In the subsequent Israeli military operation, more than 73 thousand Palestinians lost their lives in the Gaza Strip, according to the data of the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health.
Nearly all of the Gaza Strip's two million population lives in makeshift tents or damaged buildings on a narrow strip of coastline under Hamas control.
