Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated that Türkiye is indispensable for the security and strategic future of Europe and said, "Turkey is not an option for Europe, but a safe rope stretching to the well it has fallen into. MHP Chairman Bahçeli made statements regarding the agenda of his party's Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Group Meeting. Making evaluations about the NATO Ankara Summit, Türkiye's position in the alliance, the defense industry, US-Iran tension, Turkey-European Union relations and the 10th anniversary of July 15, Bahçeli drew attention to Ankara's role in global politics.

Stating that Ankara was the headquarters of the War of Independence and that today it has become a center that draws the route of global politics by hosting world leaders, Bahçeli said, "This beloved city, which was once the headquarters of the resistance, has shown that it is a center that gives direction to the strategic discussions of the new era while hosting international platforms where the global security architecture is discussed. For this reason, reading the NATO Summit held in Ankara as an ordinary diplomatic activity would be an incomplete, shallow and flawed evaluation."

"Türkiye has become one of the founding actors of the new era"

Stating that the alliance's history of more than 70 years was taken into account at the NATO Ankara Summit, Bahçeli said that issues in a wide security zone were discussed, from the spirit of joint defense of Article 5 to the future of military support to Ukraine, from new procurement moves exceeding 50 billion dollars to the search for joint production in the defense industry.

Emphasizing that true alliance should be built on equity, sincerity, production, sharing and solidarity, Bahçeli said:

"Now I ask you: Who will read the flow of time? Who will diagnose the fire of the boiling cauldrons under the apparent tranquility? Who will see the new equations established in the shadow of crises, the cold calculations behind diplomatic smiles? Expressing that the implicit embargo, license restrictions, political blockade and supply obstacles between the allies hurt the alliance law, Bahçeli said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call for the removal of defense industry restrictions was one of the main messages of the Ankara Summit.
