57-year-old Hüseyin Şentürk, who lives in Bursa's İnegöl district, performs with his accordion at weddings and cultural events to keep the Rumelia culture alive.
Hüseyin Şentürk, who immigrated to Türkiye from Bulgaria in 1988, has never put down the accordion, which he learned at the age of 6, since his childhood.
Şentürk, who has been a musician within the İnegöl Rumelian Turks Culture and Solidarity Association for approximately 36 years, performs in many organizations from weddings to cultural events.
Şentürk also gives information about the accordion to those who want to learn.
Hüseyin Şentürk told the AA correspondent that his musical adventure, which he started when he was a child, continues with the same excitement today.
Explaining that he started playing the accordion as a child, imitating his uncle's son, Şentürk said, "I was 19 years old when I came from Bulgaria. I was extremely interested in music when I was 6 years old in Bulgaria. My father bought me an accordion at that time. I started going to weddings when I was 10." he said.
Serkan Ay, President of İnegöl Rumelian Turks Culture and Solidarity Association, stated that as an association, they aim to transfer Rumelian culture to future generations.
Stating that folk dance and music activities continue within the association, Ay said, "We have a folk dance team of 60 people. Our priority is to raise moral generations that respect the homeland and nation. We have a music group. Our brother Hüseyin is a good accordionist there. Playing the accordion requires great skill. He is also a composer." he said.
