To Güneş's words, "You haven't become a man, you've come here," Usta responded, "Don't insult me; if you know something, speak what you know." As the argument escalated, the meeting was adjourned.
The TBMM Planning and Budget Committee convened under the chairmanship of AK Party Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş. Discussions continue in the committee on the Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree-Laws, which includes regulations related to the economy, such as raising the lowest pension to 23,552 liras, providing premium support to the tourism sector, and employment incentives for the manufacturing industry.
During the discussions of the bill, allegations of corruption at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) caused tension and an argument between İYİ Party Samsun Deputy Erhan Usta and AK Party Uşak Deputy İsmail Güneş.
When Usta brought up the allegation that a total of 53.1 billion dollars in corruption had occurred over 20 years through practices related to electricity procurement at EPDK, İsmail Güneş objected, arguing that it was not true. As the verbal altercation between the two continued, the committee took a 5-minute break from the bill's discussions.
Even after the committee break, the argument between Güneş and Usta continued. When Güneş said, "You haven't become a man, you've come here," Usta retorted, "You are not a man." Usta then said, "Shameless fellow. So I'm not a man. Don't insult me; if you know something, speak what you know," and moved towards Güneş's seat. The tension between Usta and Güneş was defused by the intervention of other deputies in the committee.
With the argument concluded, the committee meeting resumed.
