Trabzon Spor Vice President Zeyyat Kafkas said that significant progress has been made in the Oulai transfer, that the offers for Nwaiwu are on the management's agenda and that national defender Cenk Özkaçar will join Trabzon Spor.
Trabzon Sports Vice President Zeyyat Kafkas answered the questions of the press members at Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities. Making evaluations about the departure of Eren Mert, who worked in the Scout team, from the club, Kafkas made statements about the transfer policy, infrastructure structure and new season planning.
Stating that he does not think it is right for Eren Mert's departure to be on the public agenda so much, Kafkas emphasized the institutional structure of Trabzon sports and said, "We have been watching the process with amazement for two days. A professional has left Trabzon Sports Club and the sports has been on the public agenda for two days. It is not possible to understand this. Every year, dozens of people leave Trabzonspor, new ones come. These should not be on the club's agenda. Financial issues have come to the agenda. There has been a very serious demand and the interests of the club are above everything else in Trabzonspor. "There is no one bigger than Trabzonspor. Some may call this power poisoning, some may say they received an offer. We will part ways with anyone who does not want to walk with Trabzonspor or has the slightest suspicion."
Stating that not only talented football players but also the spirit of Trabzonspor are important for success, Kafkas said, "We made missing transfers, but we also made the right transfers. This team became the champion four years ago. We did not praise or criticize anyone more than necessary that day. We need to look at the big picture. It is Trabzonspor that makes people grow."
Explaining the transfer model carried out under the leadership of Club President Ertuğrul Doğan, Kafkas said that the scout system works in a certain order and continued his words as follows:
"The way to improve the economic situation in Trabzonspor, which has limited income, is to discover, develop and sell young players. Our president has the player screening done by different teams. We have a team in Istanbul, a separate team in Trabzon and coaches who follow the players in Fatih Tekke's technical team. Everyone adds the players they follow to the common pool. Our Fatih coach also watches the past matches of these players in detail and makes the final decision. The process works like this in all transfers. Trabzonspor is a system club. "We have to protect the system rather than the people."
Referring to the structuring of the academy, Kafkas stated that sustainability is their priority and said, "We created an important system in the academy two or three years ago, and this model has now been established. There was a gap in the coordinator position. The important thing was to continue the system. We did not look for a different name from outside. We appointed Hamit Cihan, who is in our teacher Fatih's team and has academy experience, to this position. The same understanding of football will continue in the academy. The new coach of the U19 team will be determined today or tomorrow."
"We have come to an end in Oulai, we are evaluating the offers for Nwaiwu. Cenk Özkaçar is coming to Trabzon"
Providing information about the transfer activities, Kafkas stated that they have made great progress in the transfer of Oulai and said, "We have reached an agreement with the club to a large extent. Now we are waiting for Oulai's decision. He had a meeting yesterday and will do so today. We expect the transfer to be clarified within a few days."
Stating that they received serious offers for Nwaiwu, Kafkas said, "Nwaiwu was one of the important parts of our skeleton squad and a player that we did not actually consider selling. However, when we received very serious offers, we started to evaluate them. The final decision will be with our president. We are building a squad with alternatives. We have made another reinforcement in the defense. Cenk Özkaçar will come to Trabzon."
Stating that the city's support for the club should be increased, Kafkas said that they had difficulties in sponsorship and continued his words as follows:
"We are alone in Trabzon. We do not have a sponsor from Trabzon. We have former presidents who left their lodges. I do not know the reason for this. Maybe they do not like our way of government. But as time goes by, the facts will emerge."
Austrian camp and İsmail Köybaşı jubilee
Giving information about the preparation program, Kafkas stated that they planned three preparation matches in the Austrian camp and said, "Following the activities in Trabzon, we will play three preparation matches in the Austrian camp. After returning to Trabzon in August, we will play a friendly match against Göztepe in Izmir as part of the jubilee of our former player İsmail Köybaşı, who was in the champion squad."
"We do not want to sell onuachu, if there is a very good offer, we will consider it"
Confirming that Paul Onuachu received offers from Turkey and the Gulf countries, Kafkas emphasized that they wanted to preserve the skeleton squad and said, "There were offers for onuachu from Türkiye and Arab clubs. We do not want to disrupt this squad. However, if a very good offer comes at the level we want, we can evaluate it. Actually, we do not have a player that cannot be sold. But having established such a good team, we want to preserve the skeleton squad. Even the player we transferred three days ago can be sold if the right offer comes. Cabral received a transfer offer before coming to Trabzon, but we never thought about it." He made a statement.
Kafkas added that within the scope of staff planning, negotiations are continuing with Draguş and Lundstram to part ways. - TRABZON
