A commemoration ceremony was held at the grave of police officer Serdar Gökbayrak, who was martyred in Istanbul during the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016, in Sakarya.

Gökbayrak, who was martyred in the conflict that broke out while trying to suppress the coup attempt while he was on duty at the Anti-Terror Branch of the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, was commemorated at his grave in Hanlıköy in Arifiye district.

In addition to the family and relatives of the martyr, Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan, Deputy Garrison Commander Infantry Colonel Ramazan Sedat Baş, Metropolitan Mayor Yusuf Alemdar, Arifiye Mayor İsmail Karakullukçu, Provincial Mufti Mehmet Aşık, district governors and citizens attended the ceremony.

After the recitation of the Holy Quran, the ceremony was prayed by Aşık, and carnations were left on the grave of the martyr.

Following the commemoration ceremony at the cemetery, protocol members visited the family of the martyr at his home.
