The "15 July Headlines Journalism Workshop" organized by the Press Advertisement Agency (BİK) within the scope of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day events has come to fruition.
6 works selected from the newspaper designs prepared by Atatürk University Faculty of Communication students began to be exhibited at the 15 July National Will Tent in Yakutiye Madrasa.
In the workshop hosted by Atatürk University Faculty of Communication, future journalists; He received comprehensive training on crisis reporting, news verification, media ethics and accurate information production from experienced professionals and academics. After the theoretical training, the students put it into practice and asked, "How would you have made headlines that night?" Based on the question, he designed his own July 15 newspaper front pages.
Following the workshop activities, 6 original newspaper designs selected by the jury were presented to the citizens at the 15 July National Will Tent established in Yakutiye Madrasa. The exhibition, which aims to keep the journalism perspective of young communicators and the national memory alive, attracted great attention from visitors on its first day.
Providing information about the activities in the exhibition, Press Advertisement Agency Erzurum Regional Manager Ali Aktaş emphasized that July 15 is a great responsibility in terms of accurate journalism and transferring the national memory. In his statement, Aktaş said: "With this workshop, we aimed to develop our students both professionally and to enable them to evaluate the spirit of July 15 from a journalistic perspective. We were also proud that 6 works selected from the prepared activities were exhibited at the July 15 National Will Tent in Yakutiye Madrasa. These works created by our young people both keep the memory of that night alive and reflect the social responsibility of journalism.
Erzurum Governor Aydın Baruş, Provincial Police Chief Onur Karaburun, Presidential Communications Directorate Erzurum Regional Director Recep Küçükece, Press Advertisement Agency Erzurum Regional Director Ali Aktaş and many citizens attended the opening of the exhibition, which will be open to visitors for three days.
