A commemoration program was organized within the scope of the 10th anniversary of "July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day" in Ankara's Gölbaşı district.

The program started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, and the Holy Quran was read by the muezzins of the Central Mosque.

Gölbaşı District Governor Erol Rüstemoğlu, Gölbaşı Chief Public Prosecutor Çetin Güzel, Gölbaşı Mayor Yakup Odabaşı, AK Party District Chairman Selim Akceylan, District Director of National Education Serap Yılmaz, institution chiefs, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations, relatives of martyrs, veterans and citizens attended the program.

In his speech at the program, Rüstemoğlu stated that July 15 was a historical turning point in which the nation defended democracy, independence and national will.

Reminding that the terrorist organization FETO attempted a coup by infiltrating state institutions, Rüstemoğlu noted that the coup attempt was eliminated thanks to the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the determined stance of the nation and the struggle of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Police Department.

Emphasizing that it is a common responsibility to protect the legacy of martyrs and veterans, Rüstemoğlu stated that we should act in unity and solidarity.

Odabaşı stated that the courage and patriotism shown by the nation on the night of July 15 will never be forgotten, and that the struggle for independence from Çanakkale to July 15 was continued with the same faith and determination.

After the speeches, the janissary band and the seymen performed a show.

Within the scope of the programs, before the noon prayer, Mevlid was read in the mosques in Gölbaşı, Hatim prayer was made and the Holy Quran was read.

In addition, a blood donation program was organized by the Turkish Red Crescent in Atatürk Beach Park, and relatives of martyrs and veterans were visited during the day.
