HAK-İŞ Chairman Mahmut Arslan and his accompanying delegation commemorated the martyrs at their graves on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

The commemoration ceremony at Karşıyaka Cemetery 15 July Martyrs' Cemetery started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Then, prayers were made for the July 15 martyrs and veterans, including HAK-İŞ members Celalettin İbiş, Ahmet Özsoy, Ali Karslı and Hakan Gülşen, Mehmet Gülşen and Lütfi Gülşen, who lost their lives in the coup attempt.

In his statement here, HAK-İŞ Chairman Arslan said that July 15 was an attempt by imperialist forces to invade the country by using the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).

Stating that the nation is indebted to martyrs, relatives of martyrs and veterans, Arslan continued as follows:

"We cannot pay this debt forever. Because no one can financially repay what they did. We will act with this understanding. We will never forget our martyrs, we will not let them forget. From now on, we will carry the trust they left us even higher. May God bless once again these heroes who took to the streets for the sake of God and resisted against tanks, planes, anti-aircraft guns and helicopters in the squares for the sake of God, without obeying anyone's pressure or instructions in the difficult times of our nation. May God bless once again the events of the night of July 15 should not be forgotten. It is necessary."

Arslan thanked the nation who came to the squares on July 15 to defend democracy, independence and the homeland, and expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Stating that they will continue to support the families of martyrs and veterans as HAK-İŞ, Arslan said, "We cannot fulfill our duties by commemorating our martyrs' relatives and veterans only on certain days and visiting them on certain days. What they want from us is not any financial support. They do not complain, do not criticize, do not make demands. 'Remember us, do not forget us.' they say. "We need to do these things together." he said.

After the ceremony, Arslan met with the relatives of the martyrs and left carnations on the graves.

Donuts were distributed by HAK-İŞ for the martyrs of July 15.
