MUŞ (İHA) – The lifeless body of 10-year-old Berat Karakaya, who fell into the Murat River in Muş and went missing, has been found.

The lifeless body of 10-year-old Berat Karakaya, who fell into the Murat River and went missing on July 10 in Özdilek village, affiliated with Muş city center, was found approximately 4 kilometers from the point where he fell, on the 8th day of search operations. Karakaya's lifeless body was discovered by his uncle, who was scanning the riverbank approximately 4 kilometers from where he fell. After Karakaya was brought ashore by his uncle, search and rescue teams and the family were informed.

The search operations, which had been ongoing for 8 days under the coordination of the Muş AFAD Provincial Directorate, received support from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Van Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue teams, diver police officers from the Van Police Department, AFAD teams from Siirt, Bitlis, and Erzurum, as well as Diyarbakır gendarmerie diver teams, family members, and villagers. In the search efforts, which involved approximately 170 personnel, extensive surface and underwater scanning activities were carried out along the Murat River, and the water flow in the Alparslan-1 and Alparslan-2 dams was also stopped for a certain period to ensure more effective operations.

Following an examination at the scene, Berat Karakaya's body was taken to the Muş State Hospital morgue for autopsy procedures. - MUŞ
