Neslihan Kır, a mother of three children who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago in Darıca district of Kocaeli, gained morale and motivation during the treatment process thanks to the relief art she started with the advice of her doctor friend.
Kır, a 33-year-old mother of three children living in Osmangazi District, told the AA reporter that she was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and her treatment is ongoing.
Stating that the process was difficult not only for him but for everyone, Kır stated that he continued his life by holding on to his children and art.
Kır explained that he started relief art upon the advice of his doctor friend Nilgün Yönten after he was diagnosed with cancer, and said, "I have painted about 40 paintings so far. Relief took my deep and hopeless thoughts. It became something that I will strive for in life. Life is not a straight road, it has its ups and downs. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry. Human beings somehow hold on to something, get strength from something and continue. We have to fight, I have been fighting for as long as I can remember, and for my children." I will continue to fight." he said.
"By making paintings, he got away from the disease and relaxed spiritually."
Doctor Yönten stated that Kır completed the 2-year advanced breast cancer treatment process and that her family and friends were with her during this period.
Referring to the fact that the treatment process can sometimes make a person depressed, Yönten said, "By making paintings, she got away from the disease and relaxed spiritually. On the other hand, we came together with non-governmental organizations and associations and organized exhibitions. We recommend Neslihan to make paintings. Hopefully, if there are people who want to buy the paintings, Neslihan will continue to practice her art." he said.
Yönten emphasized that Kır was a good role model for patients fighting cancer and said, "Neslihan is actually an exemplary story of the struggle for life. We should not be afraid of cancer. There needs to be a spark in our lives to fight. When you are treated, you can take care of your children in such a beautiful life." he said.
