Special operations police officer Edip Zengin, who was martyred in the attack on the Special Operations Center in Gölbaşı district of Ankara during the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016, was commemorated at his grave in Darıca district of Kocaeli.
Within the scope of the program organized by Darıca District Governorate for the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, the Mawlid was first read for the martyrs and veterans who lost their lives at the Eyüboğlu Mosque in Nenehatun District.
Later, the protocol members went to the martyrdom and prayed by leaving carnations on the grave of martyr Edip Zengin.
Darıca District Governor Yaşar Dönmez, Darıca Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık, district managers, political party representatives, municipal council members, neighborhood headmen and representatives of non-governmental organizations attended the commemoration program.
The program ended after the recitation of the Holy Quran.
