Messages were published in Trabzon on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç stated that July 15, beyond the coup attempt, is a symbol of the nation's will to protect its homeland, flag and state.
Genç stated that the night of July 15, 2016 was an important turning point in Türkiye's destiny, and that the nation took to the streets to protect their homeland and flag, regardless of opinion.
Emphasizing that the spirit of July 15 represents courage, faith and love of the country, Genç said:
"It is our common responsibility to keep this spirit alive and pass it on to future generations. As long as Turkey is in unity and solidarity, no power will be able to bring this beloved nation to its knees. The spirit of July 15 will continue to be our greatest strength and source of inspiration as we walk towards our Türkiye Century goals today, as it was yesterday."
"On the night of July 15, the nation protected democracy, law, flag and future"
AK Party Provincial Chairman Sezgin Mumcu also stated that July 15, 2016 was a historical resistance in which the nation defended its national will, independence and future.
Mumcu pointed out that the nation protected democracy, law, flag and future on the night of July 15 and made the following statements:
"The fact that the Turkish Grand National Assembly continued its activities under bombs and that our MPs took a common stand against the coup plotters, regardless of political views, showed that July 15 was also a strong struggle for democracy. July 15 is a declaration that there is no power above the will of our nation."
Mumcu also noted that, as AK Party organizations, they will continue to protect the will of the nation, strengthen democracy and work for the future of Türkiye under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Erkut Çelebi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the Turkish nation showed that they will not give up on democracy and national will on July 15, and stated that they, as professional organizations, always stand by the nation and the state.
Metin Kara, President of Trabzon Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, stated that tradesmen and craftsmen always stand by their state and nation against coups, and emphasized that they will continue to protect the country and national values.
